Scientist dies in accident

VILLUPURAM: A scientist in the Kalpakkam Atomic Power Station was killed in a road accident at Vellaiyur near Ulundurpet on Sunday.

The police said N. Srinivasan, along with his family members, was returning by an Indica car from Namakkal to Chennai when it involved in an accident with a courier van.

Mr. Srinivasan who was at the wheel died on the spot. His wife Hemalatha (36), daughter Shanthini (13) and a relative Sivasubramanian (24) sustained injuries. They have been referred to a hospital in Chennai.

The police have arrested the van driver. — Special Correspondent
