Good response to DMK job fair

Aspirants: Applicants at the job fair organised by DMK party at Nanjappa Corporation Higher Secondary School in Tirupur on Sunday

Tirupur: The two-day mega job fair, organised by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, providing a congenial platform to bring thousands of job seekers and employers together, concluded at Nanjappa Corporation Higher Secondary School here on Sunday.

The event evoked good response as about 21,000 applicants from across the State attended interviews.

As many as 135 firms from computer (both hardware and software), life insurance, textiles, poultry, medical care, IT enabled services, retail trade and education sectors offered postings ranging from managerial cadre to assistants.

C. S. Manohar, co-ordinator, said that of the total 21,000 job seekers, about 6,600 were recruited by various companies. The organisers had arranged about 100 bus services from different towns and cities in the State to the venue for the candidates.

Minister for State Highways and Minor Ports M.P. Saminathan supervised the proceedings of the fair.
