Afzalgunj ‘suitcase murder case’ solved?

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A 28-year-old man was taken into custody by the city police on Sunday in connection with the murder of Sai Prasad, whose body was found in a suitcase deposited in the cloakroom at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in Afzalgunj a few days ago.

Details sought

Police are collecting more details from Ajay Babu, 28, hailing from Tenali in Guntur district, to know exact reasons behind the murder. Prasad was first smothered to death and later his body was stuffed in a suitcase and deposited in the cloakroom in the bus station. Workers grew suspicious after foul smell started emanating from the suitcase and alerted police. Then police rushed to the bus station and broke open the suitcase only to find a putrefying body.
