Yadav wins silver

NEW DELHI: Ram Ashrey Yadav has won a silver medal in the Asian judo championship, which was held in Chinese Taipei from May 21 to 24.

A Commonwealth Championship gold medallist last year, Yadav took part in the 73kg event.

Sanju Singh (66kg), Anil Kumar (100kg) and women judokas K.H. Tombi Devi (48kg) and L. Nirupama Devi (57kg) finished fifth.

Five other Indians ended up at the seventh place in their respective categories.
