Tirupur: After a gap of almost two months, the district administration resumed the weekly grievances day meeting at the Collectorate on Monday.

The programme was stopped owing to the restrictions imposed by the Election Commission of India as part of its code of conduct.

Official sources said that on Monday, a total of 90 petitions were received by Collector C. Samayamoorthy.

Some of the physically challenged persons sought financial assistance under the Government-sponsored schemes to run business ventures and to buy specifically designed motorbikes for comfortable travel to their workplaces.

Other demands of the public included speedy disbursal of pension, house site pattas and welfare assistances announced by the Government. District Revenue Officer K.V.Muralitharan was present.
