Man murdered

Bangalore: A 30-year-old private company employee was murdered and his friend assaulted on Tavarekere Main Road here on Sunday.

Raju, a native of Tamil Nadu who was residing on Tavarekere Main Road, was the victim. The injured Kiran (25) has been admitted to a hospital.

The victim had quarrelled with Muniraju in a bar on Sunday. Around 10.45 p.m., Muniraju and his friends barged into the house of Raju and assaulted him and Kiran with lethal weapons. Both were shifted to a hospital where Raju died of injuries.

Narrow escape

At least 20 passengers of a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus had a narrow escape near K.R. Puram lake when the bus collided with a lorry. The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday.

Chain snatched

A 47-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain by a person on a motorcycle at Kempegowda Layout near Channammanakere Achkattu here on Sunday night.

The victim, Lalitha, told the police that she was on her way home after visiting the Ganesha temple nearby.
