I will fully involve myself in party work: Anbumani

Special Correspondent

PMK to open full-time office in Chennai

CHENNAI: Seeking to put the electoral reverse behind it, the PMK’s general council on Monday resolved to channelise its energy towards building the party in the State.

The party decided to open a full-time office here. Former Union Minister and PMK’s youth wing president, Anbumani Ramadoss, will meet party workers on a regular basis.

“I was longing to meet party workers in the last five years since my tenure in the Union Cabinet allowed little time for party activities. I must thank Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi for making it possible,” said Dr.Anbumani.

Party polls

“We will soon conduct elections for various posts in the party and only those who enjoy the support of the people will hold positions in the organisation. I will fully involve myself in party work,” said Dr.Anbumani. He said he had long ago decided not to join the Cabinet this time.

“I have decided to spend four days in an Assembly constituency and will ensure that every village has a party flag. I will begin my work in two weeks,” he said.

PMK founder S.Ramadoss said the party would continue to fight against illegal sand quarrying, liquor shops and conversion of farm land into Special Economic Zones (SEZs). “Liquor flows in Tamil Nadu and it can be renamed a State of drunkards. The State government is working as a broker for real estate sharks and wasting cultivable lands.”

Dr.Ramadoss also spoke against distribution of freebies.
