Elamanchili triumphs
VISAKHAPATNAM: Elamanchili Hockey Association won the Andhra State invitation hockey tournament beating Visakhapatnam XI 5-3 via the tie-breaker after the regulation time of the final ended in a 1-1 deadlock, at Elamanchili on Thursday.
Moving ahead
Elamanchili went ahead in the 28th minute with B. Suribabu converting a penalty stroke and N. Rajeswara Rao of Visakhapatnam levelled the scores in the 48th minute.
In the tie-break, S. Ramesh, L. Ramesh, Chinna Appa Rao and B. Suribabu converted the strokes for Elamanchili while only K. Rajasekhar and K. Jayaraj were successful for Visakhapatnam.
