Induction of two Ministers gladdens people

THANJAVUR: People of the delta districts are happy over the induction of two MPs hailing from Thanjavur district – G. K. Vasan, Rajya Sabha member and S. S. Palani Manickam, Lok Sabha member elected from Thanjavur constituency, in the Central Cabinet. Welcoming the induction, they expressed their hope that many benefits may accrue to the district because of their efforts.

Congress workers and leaders are happy over elevation of G. K. Vasan as Cabinet Minister. Retention of S. S. Palani Manickam, Thanjavur MP, as Minister of State for Finance has brought joy to the DMK cadres. “With this team of ministers, we expect lot of development in Thanjavur. Our immediate need is the operation of additional trains to Chennai from Thanjavur and steps to lay Ariyalur-Thanjavur-Pattukottai railway line,” said K. R. Annamalai, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Padmanabhan, its secretary.
