Mixed day for India

NEW DELHI: The Indian shuttlers had a mixed day at the Open Volant d’Or in France on Thursday.

While Aditya Prakash made it to the second qualifying round, Oskar Bansal and Nishant Sinha crashed out of the tournament.

Aditya beat Bulgarian Yauheni Yakauchuk 21-14, 21-10. Oskar thrashed Joel Mevel 21-2, 21-12 in the first round before losing to Chinese Zhang Hong 21-19, 19-21, 21-11 in the next.

Nishant caved in meekly to Frenchman Nick Fransman 21-9, 21-8. — PTI
