Lala Raghubir Singh tournament from tomorrow

NEW DELHI: The 33rd Lala Raghubir Singh hot weather cricket tournament will be played at the Modern School grounds, Barakhamba Road, from June 2 to 13.

The tournament returns to the 40-overs-a-side format after having experimented with the Twenty20 version last season.

All-India Public Sector, Collage Group, Vidya Jain Club, Air India, Rajasthan Academy, Subhania Club, Malviya Club and Sonnet Club are some of the main teams competing in the tournament.

The tournament features 12 teams divided into four groups and the topper from each group will make the semifinals. The winner will get Rs. 100,000, and the runner-up Rs. 51,000. The semifinalists will get Rs. 21,000 each.

The final is scheduled to be telecast ‘live’ on Doordarshan.
