Curators’ meet

Chennai: The two-day meeting of the BCCI curators from across the country began at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Monday. The meeting is chaired by the Board’s chief curator Daljit Singh.

K.S. Viswanathan, secretary, TNCA, told The Hindu that the BCCI was contemplating a course for curators on the lines of those for umpires and coaches.

He said the BCCI was keen to provide separate grounds and wickets for the conduct of junior cricket. The Board was also seeking inputs from the various curators on the facilities they required. The BCCI, he said, had given permission for the outside wickets, not the pitches adjacent to the one where a game was in progress, to be watered during a match. “In venues that have more than three pitches, this would definitely help in the preparation of wickets,” said Mr. Viswanathan. — Special Correspondent
