Credit outlay for priority sector is Rs. 1,288.36 crore Agriculture allotted a sum of Rs. 767.22 crore NAMAKKAL: The Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for Namakkal district for 2009-2010 has envisaged a credit outlay of Rs. 1,288.36 crores for priority sector, which is 18 per cent higher than that of last year’s. While releasing the Annual Credit Plan, Collector N. Sagayam at a function that had been organised for the purpose by the Lead Bank, Indian Bank, here, said that the a sum of Rs. 211.74 crore and Rs. 309.40 crore had been allotted to non-farm sector and other priority sectors respectively. AgricultureAgriculture would receive a sum of Rs. 767.22 crore, which worked out to a 60 per cent share in the credit. Out of total outlay, commercial banks had a share of 77 per cent, i.e Rs. 991.48 crore of credit outflow while co-operative banks had a share of 22 per cent with Rs 287.10 crore, with TIIC chipping in with Rs.9.78 crore with 0.78 per cent share. To provide a fillip to the development programmes in the district, a sum of Rs.85.49 crore had been allocated for credit-oriented government programmes. The administration was planning to disburse Rs. 834.96 crore in rural areas and Rs. 453.41 crore for semi urban pockets. The ACP also was dovetailed with the PLP outlay of Rs. 1,294.75 crore. Senior bank and revenue officials took part in the function.
