Air Marshal Browne takes charge

NEW DELHI: Air Marshal N.A.K. Browne on Monday assumed charge as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, the largest and the seniormost operational command of the Indian Air Force.
Commissioned as a fighter pilot in 1972, he has varied operational experience and flown aircraft, including Hunter, all variants of MiG-21s, Jaguar and Sukhoi-30 MKI, an official release said.
NDA alumnus
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, he is a fighter combat leader who has served as an instructor at the Tactics and Combat Development Establishment and Defence Service Staff College, Wellington.
Air Marshal Browne is a recipient of the Ati Vishist Seva Medal and Vayu Sena Medal.
