Interim BMRDA plan approved, High Court told

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The State Government on Monday informed the Karnataka High Court that it approved and gazetted an interim master plan of the Bangalore Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (BMRDA) on May 23, 2009.

The State said the interim master plan was the same as the draft it had issued on April 28, 2007. It said the Governor had received some suggestions on the master plan when the draft was published. Subsequently, the master plan was changed. However, all the changes were negated in the interim plan. The Government made this submission when Justice Rammohan Reddy was hearing a petition by A.G. Krishnamurthy and others questioning the delay in notifying the master plan.

Justice Reddy asked the Secretary of the Urban Development Department (UDD) to be present in court along with the draft and interim plans and adjourned further hearing of the case.
