Web TV for IIT JEE aspirants

CHENNAI: The Chennai-based SmartLearn Edutech Pvt. Ltd. launched SmartLearn WebTV, a venture by IITians and IIM alumini. Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, K. Swaminathan, Chief Executive Officer, said the company invested Rs. 4.50 crore towards establishing a studio and creating learning management system. SmartLearn would tap the estimated Rs. 10,000 crore IIT JEE training market.

In the first phase it would set up three offices in Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore by this month and five more would be added by next month to promote WebTV concept and brand building.

The CEO said SmartLearn would tap Tier-II and Tier-III cities and would have 40 franchisees by the end of this year. SmartLearn set itself a target of enrolling 3,000 students by 2009.
