Government promises action on black money

New Delhi: Indirectly acknowledging Leader of the Opposition L.K. Advani’s major plank — black money, supposedly stashed away in Swiss banks — in the election campaign, President Pratibha Patil said: “My government is fully seized of the issue of illegal money of Indian citizens outside the country in secret bank accounts. It will vigorously pursue all necessary steps in coordination with the countries concerned.”
