Supply ships christened

KOCHI: Two platform supply ships, BY-66 and BY-67, under construction in Cochin Shipyard for Hellespont Group, were christened here in a function at the Shipyard premises on Wednesday.

The vessels were blessed by Rev. Apostolos Kavaliotis, as has been the tradition of the company, and subsequently BY66 was christened “Hellespont Defiance” and BY67 named “Hellespont Drive.

Commodore M. Jitendran, Chairman and Managing Director of CSL, its Director (Finance) N. M. Paramesh and K. Subramaniam, Director (Operations) and other senior officers were present.

These Platform supply ships are of the popular UT-755 LN design for the offshore industry. They are designed for satisfying the specific demands of transport of deck cargo, pipes, liquid cargo, cement/barite etc
