CPI(M) sees bid to influence Governor

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI(M) State secretariat has alleged a bid by a section of the media in Kerala to influence the decision of the Governor on the CBI request for permission to prosecute party State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC Lavalin corruption case.

In a statement , the CPI(M) leadership said the media in Kerala was engaged in a ‘heinous’ bid to mislead the Governor on the issue. It cited the report appearing in a prominent Malayalam daily titled ‘CPI(M) leader called AG’s office’ as evidence of this bid. The contents were untrue and the CBI had clarified that there was no attempt to record the calls to the office of the Advocate General (AG).
