THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State committee of the SFI has urged the government to implement the credit and semester system on a scientific basis at the earliest. In a memorandum submitted to Education Minister M.A. Baby, the SFI also wanted scientific overhaul of the syllabus, enforcement of a student feedback system, revamp of the examination calendar and steps to prevent course lags. Addressing a news conference here on Friday, SFI State secretary A.N. Shamseer said the organisation also wanted the universities to put emphasis on language studies and steps to ensure that student-teacher ratio was in accordance with the UGC norms. –Special Correspondent
