TIRUCHI: The district administration invites applications from physically disabled and hearing impaired persons for a free six-month computer training and two-year laboratory technician diploma programmes offered through District Disabled Rehabilitation Centre. Candidates who wish to undergo the computer training programme should have passed Plus Two, and for the laboratory technician programme Plus Two with Mathematics or Science. Candidates should be in the age group of 17 to 30 and their disability should be more than 40 per cent. The laboratory technician programme will be conducted at the Tiruchi K.A.P.Viswanatham Government Medical College and candidates would be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs.300. The computer training programme would be conducted at Seethalakshmi Ramaswami Iyer Polytechnic. Trainees of this programme would also be eligible for the stipend of Rs.300 a month, Collector T. Soundiah said in a Press release. Those who wish to apply for the programmes should submit their applications to the District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer, District Rehabilitation Centre, District Court Campus, Cantonment, Tiruchi.
