ATS to quiz Madani on train blasts
Staff Reporter
Mumbai: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is set to interrogate Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Mohammad Omar Madani for his role in the July 11, 2006, Mumbai trains blasts. Madani, an aide of the 26/11 mastermind and Lashkar leader Hafiz Saeed was recently arrested by the Delhi police.
ATS chief K.P. Raghuvanshi told The Hindu that officers of the squad would visit Delhi next week to question Madani. “We have been in touch with the Delhi police,” he said.
Madani has reportedly identified the train blasts accused Kamal Ahmed Ansari. The Mumbai police are not yet looking to question Madani in connection with the November 26, 2008, terror strike. “His name has not come anywhere. If any links are found, we will interrogate him,” the police said.
