Injustice to Erukulas living in the plain areas alleged KADAPA: Erukula Hakkula Porata Samiti State president V. Prabhakar on Saturday demanded an Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA) exclusively for Girijan tribals including Erukulas living on plain lands in the State, on the lines of those in the agency areas. People of 31 of the 35 tribes in the State lived in forest areas and schemes were being implemented for Yanadi and Lambadi tribals, he told a press conference. Alleging injustice to Erukulas living in the plain areas, he said none from the tribe were given ticket by any political party in the recent elections. Mr. Prabhakar demanded establishment of an ITDA for welfare of people of Erukula tribe, as promised by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy eight months ago. Samithi’s district president J.C. Subbarayudu urged the CM to keep up his promise. He demanded identification of employees working with bogus caste certificates. Mr. Subbarayudu demanded a separate Scheduled Tribes Commission and allotment of land for Girijana Bhavan sanctioned earlier. Its district vice-president Sakkubai, secretary Srinivasulu, State executive member J. Raghuramudu and district executive member Anjaneyulu participated.
