PATHANAMTHITTA: A Special Investigation Team attached to the State Drugs Control Department (Intelligence wing) will launch an inspection drive across the State in the backdrop of the seizure of a few vials of spurious life-saving drugs from a private hospital at Mulakkuzha, near Chengannur, on Thursday. Drugs Inspector Shaji Varghese, who is a team member, told The Hindu that the raid party had stumbled upon certain clues hinting of the involvement of a bigger “racket in spurious drug trade across the State, posing a threat to the healthcare mechanism.”
