NDPL meets record demand for power

Staff Reporter

Peak load on the system in the Capital recorded at 4111 MW

NEW DELHI: Power distribution company NDPL met a record demand for power on Friday when the peak load on the system in the Capital was recorded at 4111 MW.

The company claims it met the demand of 1173 MW with uninterrupted power supply to its consumers in North Delhi and North-West Delhi.

This was the highest ever demand catered to by NDPL within its licensed area of supply. “Barring three interruptions due to tripping of incoming supply from Delhi Transco’s 400/220KV grid at Mandaula and a minor tripping of 11KV feeder in Vijay Nagar, we successfully met the high demand and were able to serve our consumers with uninterrupted power supply,” said a NDPL spokesperson.

NDPL supplied 24.38MUs of energy on Friday which was the highest energy supplied on a single day.

Last year the highest demand of 1140 MW was met on September 5.
