KOCHI: Looking for an exclusive collection that will make your boutique stand out in the upcoming festival season? The search ends at India Fashion Focus 2009, an exclusive buyers’ meet, organised by City Leaves Media Events Private Ltd. at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor stadium. The three-day event inaugurated by District Collector M. Beena, houses various brands like William Hazlitt, Hello Kitty, Vipul, G2, Trailer and Amul Macho that showcase collections for the ensuing seasons. The trade fair is a marketing platform that brings together dealers and prospective buyers. The majority of the exhibitors hail from Tirupur, the ‘Cotton City’, synonymous with knitwear. Merchandisers from Surat, Jaipur and Mumbai have an elaborate display of Indian drapes and salwar suits. Saris with metallic embellishments are the flavour of the season while cotton is the most preferred fabric among garment manufacturers. Textile machinery and fabrics like polyester, lycra and poly and viscose are also available. India Fashion Focus 2009 is only an exhibition and there is no sale. It concludes on Sunday.
