CHENNAI: A two-day workshop ‘SAE Career Connect’ jointly organised by Access Atlantech Edutainment and SAE College got under way here on Saturday. The workshop focussed on the emerging potential of and opportunities available in three popular media streams, namely Animation, Digital Film Making and Recording Arts. The event, open for all, was attended by aspiring media students. They got to interact with experts in the field.

The Animation and Games workshop outlined the processes involved in creating animation for films and making and adapting animation for 3D games. The Recording Arts workshop highlighted two broad processes, one to do with composing and remixing of a song and the process of post-production in sound. The Digital Film Making workshop dealt with processes involved in making short films. SAE College, which has five centres , offers diploma and degree courses in all the three streams.

One of the participants, Naresh, a graduate in Visual Communication, said: “I’m here to check what’s happening and to know about career opportunities which are available. I would like to go abroad and pursue higher education. The session was very helpful and I can make an informed decision about my future now.”

Music composers Harris Jeyaraj and Devi Sri Prasad are scheduled to participate on Sunday and share their insights on the entertainment industry.
