Buildings project inaugurated

NAMAKKAL: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare S. Gandhiselvan inaugurated the construction of an Integrated Court Complex and residential buildings for the judicial officers in Namakkal on Sunday.
The complex would be established on a 12-acre land located inside the Collectorate premises. Six acres of land was identified for the construction of residential buildings.
The State Government allotted Rs. 10.56 crore for the project, which was a long-pending demand of the people in Namakkal district.
The complex will have eight court halls, offices, rooms of the judicial officers, offices for public prosecutors, bar association hall and document safety rooms.
Facilities for the establishment of a bank branch, post office and canteen would also be provided in the complex. Basic amenities including toilets and drinking water supply provisions would be created.
The project was expected to be completed within 18 months.
Collector U. Sagayam presided over the programme. District Revenue Officer G. Govindaraj and senior officials were present during the function.
