V.K. Subburaj, Health Secretary: About 10 per cent of the total population in the State can be said to be in the over 65 years of age category. The master health check-up scheme will be gradually expanded to cover all government hospitals. On specific request, it is being provided at a subsidised rate for senior citizens at the Government General Hospital. The government will examine proposals on issues such as insurance .
