Packing a punch: The jackfruit from the farm of Ajith Prasad Jain, a planter in Wayanad district, was selected as the biggest in a jackfruit contest at Trikkaippatta in Wayanad on Monday. The contest was organised by Uravu, a non-governmental organisation, as part of a three-day jackfruit festival. The fruit weighs 47.5 kg and will be recommended for a Guinness record, the organisers said. The present record is held by a jackfruit from the Hawaii island that weighed 43.6 kg.
