RUPNAGAR: Punjab Vigilance Bureau officials on Monday claimed to have arrested a Defence Pension Disbursing Officer red-handed while allegedly taking a bribe in a trap case. Disclosing this here, a spokesman of the Bureau said Surinder Singh was nabbed red-handed by a Vigilance team while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.7,000 from Raj Kumar of Badwa village in Anandpur Sahib tehsil purportedly for completion of his pension book. The complainant had approached the Bureau alleging that the officer was demanding Rs.10,000 for the purpose but the deal was struck at Rs.7,000.
