Kozhikode: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran, who was elected from Vadakara in the recent Lok Sabha elections, along with M.K. Raghavan and M.I. Shanavas, who were elected from Kozhikode and Wayanad respectively, will be accorded a reception under the aegis of the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on June 10. Addressing a press meet, DCC president K.C. Abu said prominent leaders of United Democratic Front (UDF) would attend the programme. It would be the first visit of Mr. Ramachandran to the district after assuming charge. “We are planning a grand reception to the proud sons of the constituencies at the capital of Malabar,” he said. Chennithala to openThe event being organised at the Tagore Centenary Hall here at 3 p.m. would be inaugurated by the KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala. Senior UDF leaders would receive Mr. Ramachandran at the Karipur airport at 12 noon. He would be brought to the DCC office in the town accompanied by a retinue of vehicles and party workers. Indian Union Muslim League general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty, CMP leader M.V. Raghavan and other UDF leaders like P.K.K. Bava and P. Sankaran would attend the programme.
