The United States Navy and the National Science Foundation have planned one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken to study the energy and origin of cosmic rays, The New York Times reported on June 8. From their photographic record scientists hoped to obtain a new insight into the laws of nature and of how cosmic particles with such tremendous energy were created.
