Kerala Governor R.S. Gavai’s decision to reject the Cabinet’s recommendation and to give sanction to prosecute CPI (M) leader in the SNC-Lavalin case is welcome. Whether or not the Governor exceeded the discretionary power vested in him may be a moot point. But if Pinarayi Vijayan is innocent, why should the party fight shy of judicial process? V.K.
