KANCHEEPURAM: Two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries after a car fell into a road-side ditch near Maduvankarai on the East Coast Road on Sunday evening. According to police, the mishap took place around 4.30 p.m. when the car proceeding to Puducherry from Chennai, driven by Jayakanthan of Korattur near Chennai, fell into a road-side ditch after Jayakanthan presumably lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn on the ECR near Maduvankarai. While Jayakanthan and his friend Baskaran died on the spot, other friends – Martin, Sukumar and Padmanabhan – sustained injuries and were rushed to a private hospital at Kelambakkam,police said.
