Two militants killed in Sopore
Srinagar: A self-styled deputy chief operations commander of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HUM) was among two militants killed in a nearly five-hour gun battle with the security forces in Baramulla district on Wednesday.
The encounter took place at Dangerpora village in Sopore, Viplav Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Baramulla, said.
Mr. Kumar said the police received information about the presence of two militants in a house in the village and laid a cordon at 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday. The gun battle started at 6 a.m. and it ended around 11 a.m. — PTI
