VIJAYAWADA: The annual career counselling programmes organised by The Hindu-Education Plus in association with the Koneru Lakshmaiah University for successful candidates of EAMCET -2009 will be held in Vijayawada on June 14, Ongole on June 16 and Khammam on June 18. All the sessions, whether it is for the students aspiring to pursue engineering and related courses or for the students seeking to study medicine and related courses, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The students who have already enrolled their names for the session on medicine and related courses are requested to note the change in the time. The counselling session in Vijayawada will be organised at Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram, while the session in Ongole will be held at Sri Shankara Narayana Mandapam next to Ayyappa Swamy Devasthanam, Mangunuru Road. The session in Khammam will take place at Zilla Parishad conference hall near district Collectorate. The counselling sessions will be of immense help to students and their parents in choosing the right courses. Renowned academicians will throw light on the career prospects of different streams of engineering, medicine, pharmacy, dental sciences, agriculture and other allied subjects. The direct interaction will facilitate the students and parents to clarify doubts on career prospects in these times of recession, skills required to pursue any subject and the like. HandbookRegistered students attending these programmes will be given a copy of a 150-page handbook consisting of articles on various careers written by senior academicians and the editorial staff of The Hindu. Registration fee is Rs. 100. Registrations can be done on phone/email or in person. Spot registration will also be allowed subject to availability of seats.
