Army recruitment rally from June 23 to 29

SHIMOGA: An Army recruitment rally will be held at the Nehru Stadium here from June 23 to 29.

The rally will be conducted for soldier general duty from June 23 and 24, for soldier clerk/store keeper technical, soldier technical and nursing assistant on June 25, according to a press release.

Children of servicemen/ex-servicemen/widows/war widows, NCC certificate holders and sportsmen who have obtained first or second position in State/national and university level for all the categories will be screened on June 26.

e-enrolment of ex-servicemen of Army/Navy/Air Force into DSC as soldier general duty will also be held on June 26 and soldier tradesman and soldier general duty for animal and store handler on June 27. Only male candidates who are permanent residents of Uttar Kannada, Dakshinsa Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Udipi, Chikmagalur, Shimoga, Chitradurga and Davangere districts are eligible to attend the rally.

However, candidates from Belgaum, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Koppal and Gadag districts, who have passed 10th and 10+2 in the academic year 2009, will be screened.

The event is an open rally and there is no requirement of applications. The candidates must bring 12 colour photographs, education certificates, character certificate issued within six months from the date of rally, residence and caste certificate from Tahsildlar in English, NCC, sports and other certificates along with two photocopies of each certificate duly attested.
