16 young footballers to train in London

KOLKATA: Sixteen budding soccer stars have been picked to participate in the Arsenal international soccer festival in London in August.

Two coaches from Arsenal FC, Paul Shipwright and Kurt Maginley, put through 32 boys selected from all over India and chose the 16 to undergo training and competition in London. This initiative was possible with the support of Tata Tea in association with Arsenal FC.

The squad: Arindam Mitra and Biswajit Sardar (Kolkata), Chandra Sekhar Behera (Bhubaneswar), Daniel Lalhruaitluanga (New Delhi), Diwakar Thapa (Bangalore), Harold Fernandes (Mumbai), Manoj Tamang (Lucknow), Matheus Wahalang Pahsyntiew (Shillong), Michael S. Chongthu (New Delhi), P.C. Lalhrialhuia (New Delhi), Sajwan Kislay Singh (New Delhi), Salvit Tongper (Shillong), P. Sameel (Kozhikode), Suraj Rai (Shillong), Syedviju Oasim (Bhubaneswar) and Umakanta Kiyam (Chandigarh).
