TIRUCHI: The City Police have arrested another person in connection with the child kidnapping and selling case that was cracked a few days ago. A special team caught M. Rajan (55), of Valliyoor in Tirunelveli district, on Tuesday, and got him remanded to judicial custody. The team had earlier arrested three persons -R. Dhanam, A. Paramasivam and S. Muthusamy, a driver of State Transport Corporation - and rescued seven infants, aged between 20 days and one-and-half-years after interrogating them. Five kids were restored to their biological parents. Orphanage linkPolice sources said the fourth person involved in the case, Rajan, who runs an orphanage at Valliyoor in Tirunelveli district for several years now, had sold the children kidnapped by Dhanam who used to hand over the abducted infants to Paramasivam and Muthusamy for selling them. Of the seven children, six were recovered from various places in Tirunelveli district. Dhanam was arrested in Tiruchi a few days ago when she tried to escape with a kidnapped infant. The sources said three special teams of the city police have been constituted to probe further into the case. Police team in TirunelveliOf them, two teams have gone to Tirunelveli and Coimbatore districts to find out if more number of children had been kidnapped, the sources said adding that the Tirunelveli police were assisting the special team.
