MBA graduate behind bars

HYDERABAD: An MBA graduate R.S. Phani Kumar, landed behind bars on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to extort money from a family friend, Anjamma, by threatening to kidnap her grandson.

Nallakunta Inspector Murali Krishna told reporters that after completing his education, Kumar tried for various jobs and wanted to make money by hook or crook.

He ventured into real estate business and tried to find buyers for four acres of land Anjamma owned at Hayathnagar. As the deal did not materialise, he failed to the get the commission. He hatched a plot to extort money and started calling up Anjamma threatening to kidnap her grandson. Based on a complaint lodged by her the police and nabbed him.
