Objection over invitation to Jothikumaran
NEW DELHI: The proposed meeting of state hockey associations here on June 13 and 14 has been shifted to Aamby Valley, near Mumbai.
The Indian Women’s Hockey Federation (IWHF) Secretary Ms. Amrit Bose and the President of the Bengal Hockey Association (BHA) have strongly objected to the move to invite former Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) secretary K. Jothikumaran for the forthcoming meeting.
Ms. Bose and Mr. Roy had requested IHF President K.P.S. Gill not to invite Mr. Jothikumaran “in view of his controversial background.”
Since there was no positive response from Mr. Gill, Mr. Roy and Mrs. Bose — claiming the support of 26 state units — have decided to relocate the meeting to Aamby Valley. — Sports Reporter
