Morarji school building inaugurated

CHAMARAJANAGAR: The Minister for Minorities Welfare, Wakf and Haj, Mamtaj Ali Khan, has said that reservation should be extended to the economically backward people of the Brahmin community.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Morarji Desai Residential School building, constructed by the Backward Classes and Minority Department at Veeranapura cross near Gundelpet town on Tuesday. Mr. Khan also called upon the Muslims to make education compulsory for the girl child.

Problems

He said of the 48 Morarji schools in the State, only four had permanent buildings. Construction work at six schools were in progress. Thirty schools had no sites at all. He said instructions had been given to the deputy commissioners to provide sites for the construction of school buildings.
