Cases registered for traffic rule violations
Staff Reporter
Tirupur: The police have booked a total of 110 persons on the charge of violating motor vehicle rules during intensive checking conducted across the district over two days ending in the early hours of Thursday.
Overspeed
Police sources told reporters that of the total cases registered, 37 were registered against people for steering vehicles without valid driving licences, 20 for overspeed and 10 for using dazzling lights after dusk.
As many as 12 motorbike riders were booked for travelling in an inebriated state. “We have so far booked 1,876 two-wheeler riders for drunken-driving this year,” police officials said.
The remaining cases were registered against drivers who had failed to obey traffic policemen and for breaching one-way fare.
