U.S. national held with pistol

CHENNAI: The Airport police on Thursday arrested a 56-year-old American national for carrying a pistol and live ammunition without proper documents.

According to the police, L. Sell Meyer of Arizona came to Chennai last month for treatment. On Wednesday evening, he was to board a Mumbai-bound flight. When his baggage was scanned, the authorities found a Glock pistol along with 35 rounds of live ammunition. When security personnel asked him to produce the documents, he told them he did not have any papers. After interrogation, the Airport police registered a case against him under the Arms Act.
