Nottingham: In a powerful performance, India outplayed Ireland by eight wickets in the final Group ‘A’ match of the ICC World Twenty20 at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. The in-form Rohit Sharma dazzled with an unbeaten 52 (45b, 4x4, 1x6) during the Indian chase of 113 in 18 possible overs. The target was reached with 15 deliveries to spare. India, top-seeded in Group ‘A’, topped the pool by winning both its matches. Left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan was adjudged Man of the Match for his precision, swing and cut. He scalped four in the game. Solid startIndia was off to a solid start — the openers putting on 77 in 10.5 overs. The stroke-play was sparkling in conditions not quite ideal for batting.
