Five militants killed in Assam
GUWAHATI: At least five militants, including three NDFB members, have been killed in three gunfights in Assam. A huge cache of arms and ammunition has been recovered.
A team of the Army, the CRPF and the police raided Sonari Khorang in Udalguri district on Wednesday night on a tip-off that a group of NDFB militants were staying there. The militants holed up in a house opened fire, and the security forces retaliated, killing two militants. Informed about the presence of a five militants at Naharbari, the Army and the police launched a joint operation.
