Arrested

Tirupur: The police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old man on the charge of stealing eight cell phones worth Rs 60,000 from a shop at Udumalpet near here on Friday morning.

According to sources in the police, the accused broke open the lock of the shutter and decamped with the booty.

The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the owner of the shop, Ramasubramanaian.
