Traffic affected

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Traffic was affected on Cubbon Road and Raj Bhavan Road on Friday after the pipe joints of a 675 mm drinking water pipeline gave way at two locations on the stretch between Mahatma Gandhi statue and GPO.

Water that gushed out flooded the road, especially the stretch in front of the HAL corporate office, slowing down traffic which had a cascading effect on the connecting roads including Kasturba Road, Cubbon Road and Infantry Road. Though BWSSB officials said water supply to the affected areas would not be affected, sources said the supply was likely to be hit.
