Residents lay siege to school near Karur

KULITHALAI: Irate public irked over collection of “excess fee and donation” laid a siege to a private school at P. Udayapatti in Taragampatti Panchayat near here on Friday evening.

The siege lasted for more than four hours before the police came and pacified the parents.

The parents alleged that the school authorities collected excess fee as donation and scarcely gave proper receipts.

The authorities promised to rectify the situation in a week.
